Do You Love Being Inspired By Other Gardens?

Looking to explore the open gardens of the Midlands and Underberg? Make sure to come and see our 30-hectare estate with its beautiful gardens, a gazebo and ornamental fountain, dams and forests open 3 - 4 November as part of Open Gardens of South Afrixa. In keeping with the Edwardian style of the manor, the garden follows a well-manicured English style with standard ‘Iceberg’ roses lining the verandah and magnificent established trees shading the front lawn.

Enjoy the expansive rolling lawn down to the dam and round to the function centre and chapel, which is covered in rambling ivy, with a beautiful koi pond overlooking the Drakensberg Mountains. The weeping willow and ferns soften the path back to the house and the succulents add interest. Mass displays of colour are put on by a variety of annuals.

Come in on your Open Midlands Gardens season ticket or purchase a ticket at the door for only R10 per person, all proceeds will be going to Pietermaritzburg Animal Rescue and Rehome!

We'll be serving a High Tea style buffet lunch on both days and would love to have you so book your ticket for only R150 per person. Booking is essential. Please email us on info@calderwood.co.za or fill in the contact form.
