Calderwood Hall Guest House (nestled in the foothills of the Southern Drakensberg mountains in KwaZuluNatal Midlands) is an established wedding venue and is also popular with local businesses for that smaller, less formal business break away, strategic session or meeting. It is also a venue that is well suited to both indoor and outdoor events.
Its only a short drive from Pietermaritzburg and is highly accessible to other parts of of the KwaZuluNatal Midlands.
For those looking to stay over, you’ll find this is a venue that draws everyone together, in the pub or around the pool. Being a little out of the way, definitely has its advantages.
We have two conference venues: the Jardine Centre and the Pavilion. Both can be set up according to your needs, whether its cinema style, schoolroom or U shape. The venues are air conditioned for your comfort.
The inviting Jardine Function Centre seats up to 250 guests comfortably whilst still allowing for a dance floor. Two large five metre stack-back doors lead onto a walkway alongside the koi pond. Another set of stack-back doors lead off the venue onto a large outdoor deck area overlooking the beautiful view of the mountains and surrounding forests. The mock Victorian sash windows, tastefully decorated walls, a Victorian Fireplace and three large oversized shabby-chic styled chandeliers add to the overall ambience of the room.
The Pavilion is situated in the front garden amongst the trees overlooking the dam yet not obscuring the view of the majestic Manor House. It has a large deck area, fire pit and a lovely braai facility. The large sliding doors give the room an indoor / outdoor feel. It is ideal for conferencing being able to seat 80 guests comfortably at round tables, 50 in a schoolroom style and 100 in cinema style. It is also lovely to host guests during Cocktail Hour should the weather be inclement or as a casual lounge area in which to relax.
